Each LifeSize Networker has:

  • 1x LAN port to connect to the LifeSize video conferencing system, either directly or via an Ethernet switch
  • 1x ISDN PRI port to connect to the ISDN network
  • 4x ISDN BRI ports to connect to the ISDN network.

By using the ISDN PRI port, up to 8 video calls max. @ 256kbps each can be supported.
By using the ISDN BRI ports, up to 4 video calls max. @ 128kbps each can be supported.

The LifeSize Networker can be deployed in the following ways:

  • in standalone mode
  • In this mode, one LifeSize Networker is assigned with one LifeSize video conferencing system. It is in single-user configuration. The connection can be directly between the LifeSize Networker and the LifeSize video conferencing system, or via LAN. No external power supply is required for the LifeSize networker because it uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) when integrated directly with a LifeSize video system.

  • in shared resource mode
  • In this mode, one LifeSize Networker is accessible by multiple LifeSize video conferencing systems.

Either configuration above provides easy access to ISDN networks from a centralized and easy to manage device.

The LifeSize Networker is plug and play; and can be managed and configured via HTTPS secure web access.

In shared resource mode, the LifeSize Networker’s new Dial Peer policy allows you to share Networker with multiple LifeSize video conferencing systems without the use of a Gatekeeper.

If a gatekeeper is available, Direct Inward Dial (DID) dialing mode can be supported.

Other features supported by the LifeSize Networker are:

  • Standards-based H.239 dual video support for dual streaming of video and presentation slides
  • H.261, H.263, H.263+, H.264 video coding
  • G.711 (A-Law/U-Law), G.722, G.722.1c (Polycom® Siren14™), G.728 audio coding
  • CIF, 4CIF, SIF, 2SIF, 4SIF, HD video resolutions
  • Quality of Service (QoS) support with Diffserv and IP Precedence (IntServ).
