The LifeSize Express 220 video conferencing systems will be installed at HQ and each branch; and connected to LED TVs, LCD TVs or LCD projectors. Either 1 or 2 displays can be used per location. For best video conferencing quality, 1080p30 full HD LED TVs, LCD TVs and LCD projectors are recommended. The LCD projectors shall have brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens and above.

The Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 1080p30 full HD MCU can be installed at the data center of HQ or hosted at public data center. The MCU will have a gatekeeper to allow:

  • a simplified dial plan using E.164 numbers and
  • video conferencing systems at each location to dial into the room directly.

The LifeSize Express 220 video conferencing systems and the Radvision Scopia Elite 5230 1080p30 full HD MCU will be connected using IP network and H.323 protocol.

Video conferencing systems from the ISDN network using H.320 protocol are able to join the multipoint meeting as well via the Radvision ISDN Gateway.

Bandwidth requirement for each location are as follows:

Desired video resolution Bandwidth required at MCU Bandwidth required at HQ Bandwidth required at each branch
1920×1080 pixels full HD video resolution @ 30fps 25.5Mbps 1.7Mbps 1.7Mbps
1280×720 pixels HD video resolution @ 30fps 11.5Mbps 768kbps 768kbps
1024×576 pixels DVD video resolution @ 30fps 7.8Mbps 512kbps 512kbps
912×512 pixels cable TV video resolution @ 30fps 6.0Mbps 384kbps 384kbps
400×244 pixels WCIF video resolution @ 30fps 4.0Mbps 256kbps 256kbps

During a multipoint session, all locations will see each other on a same screen using the continuous presence video layouts feature of the MCU.

In addition, users at any locations are able to connect their PC to the LifeSize Express220 video conferencing system to start a presentation. When the presentation starts, the LifeSize video conference systems will use the H.239 dual video sending and receiving feature to allow far end users to view both video and presentation slides simultaneously. H.239 dual video send and receive feature is also supported by the Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 MCU.

The MCU is able to support 1 multipoint session with up to 15 video conferencing systems together; or multiple sessions concurrently with the total number of endpoints not exceeding the capacity of the MCU.

For secure connection, the embedded AES encryption of the LifeSize video conferencing system and Radvision MCU can be used.

The Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 MCU is also equipped with web conference capability. This capability allows PC and Mac computer users with a webcam to join the multipoint video conferencing sessions using web browser. No licensed H.323 software clients are required. These PC users will see the same continuous presence video layouts and able to present/receive PC presentation in H.239 dual video mode as well.

The Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 MCU is also equipped with recording capability. This capability allows the multipoint video conferencing sessions to be recorded for archive or on-demand viewing later.

If the Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 MCU and its gatekeeper are deployed in the LAN together with the other LifeSize Express220 video conferencing systems, and need to invite some H.323 IP video conferencing systems from outside the LAN, the Radvision PathFinder firewall traversal will be required.

The LifeSize video conferencing systems and Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 MCU are fully ITU-T H.323, SIP and H.320 compliance and compatible with systems from other manufacturers.

The Radvision Scopia Elite 5115 MCU is able to host and bridge connectivity for various telepresence systems as well.
