The VBrick webcast solution is proposed.

The solution enables corporations to webcast/stream a townhall session to all employees at distributed branch offices. The same solution can be used by the education institutions to webcast a lecture, convocation, speeches from the chancellor and other special events to all staff and students campus wide and nationwide.

The solution can be used to record the events and archive them in the Video On-Demand (VOD) server for on-demand viewing in the future whenever required.

The proposed VBrick web cast solution can be implemented using IP networks (e.g. leased line network or broadband internet access). The solution is able to reach unlimited number of users using multicast method. For unicast transmission, VBrick reflectors can be used to achieve the same results.

The deployment of the VBrick web cast solution is easy. Just install the VBrick encoder at the source end and connect it to the video and audio source, setup the VBrick portal server and VBrick VOD server at a central location or data center, that’s all. There is no need to install any client player software at the users’ PC.

The VBrick Portal Server is required to have access control over who can see what. Users from anywhere can use PC with Internet Explorer to reach the VBrick Portal server. Upon successful log in, they will be able to choose a list of LIVE or stored programs.
